Cohort 1 Complete. The Next Chapter Begins.
From 1 July to 5 September 2026, 24 private bankers came together for the first WMA Certified Private Banker (CPB) journey. Ten weeks of structured learning, real world practice, and genuine reflection on what it means to serve wealthy clients well.
The learning became practical. Conversations became more intentional. And for many, it reconnected the fundamentals of private banking with what matters most: understanding clients and building relationships that last.
As Chelsea Mascarenhas from Avendus put it: the program gives you the best chance to practise and hone your skills as a private banker. It also helps make real client conversations more meaningful.
What Cohort 1 Built
The first Certified Private Banker cohort focused on practical skill building, not theory alone. Participants worked on client discovery, advisory presence, and clearer conversations with HNI families.
That matters because private banking is changing. Clients expect bankers to explain risk, priorities, and next steps with confidence. Therefore, WMA places emphasis on repeated practice, feedback, and reflection.
Across ten weeks, the cohort strengthened the habits that support trusted advisory relationships. They practised listening more closely, asking sharper questions, and connecting technical knowledge to the human priorities behind wealth decisions.
The Next Certified Private Banker Cohort
Cohort 1 has completed the journey. Cohort 2 opens in November 2026.
